Riverside Dental Bridges
Dental Bridges Information from Riverside Dental Center
Sometimes teeth are lost due to disease or injury. Extra spaces between teeth can cause the remaining teeth to shift out of place. This can trigger cosmetic and functional issues.
A bridge can help avoid problems such as jaw discomfort and gum disease.
This device attaches replacement teeth to the remaining teeth on either side of the empty space. Sometimes this is referred to as a partial denture.
To prepare the mouth for a bridge the teeth on either side are altered, usually with crowns. After this has been accomplished a temporary bridge is attached. On the final visit the permanent bridge is adjusted to fit and cemented firmly into place.
